“I am a founder member of the Ops, aged 12! A man called Jim Statters called a meeting in the village and the rest they say is history! The first plays were produced’ rather than directed, Pam Rew and Viv Taylor were at the helm of this new venture.
My stage debut was as an Irish nun in ‘A letter from General’ aged 14. My mother played another nun whilst my father ran front of house. I’ve been principal boy, prostitute, baddie, goodie, side kick, princess, witch, a cat, murderess, alcoholic, wide, mistress, air hostess, Italian, German and American – and I have loved very minute.
Behind the scenes I have been prompt, props, bar staff, set painter, wardrobe, publicity, committee member and also spent a term or two as chairman. I have been lucky enough to have had scores of nominations from the NETG and have won seven best actress/ supporting actress and comedy awards. Long may the Orps continue!”
