“I am new to the Orpen Players this year (2018), not having acted since junior school.
I had watched many of their productions over the years and became involved with them through my daughter taking part in the last two pantos. I volunteered to help paint scenery, and also went to a couple of their summer workshops where I got to know everyone better. It took me a while to think that I’d like to give the acting a go but I decided to audition for the Spring play “Prescription for Murder” and was delighted to get the part of ‘Dorothy’. I had so much fun with it – everyone is so friendly; the two rehearsals a week were a welcome and relaxing time out; and the excitement of suddenly seeing the stage dressed ready for the performances was a real thrill. I’ve now got the acting bug and am currently rehearsing the part of ‘Captain Henrietta Woolmer Cardington’ in the Autumn Production “Secondary Cause of Death”.
