The Orpen Players have begun rehearsals for their panto ‘Treasure Island’ and are in need of a pianist to join the ranks ASAP. They would be working alongside a saxophonist, bassist (who organises all the music) and would be required to attend rehearsals on Monday and Friday evenings at the Orpen Hall in West Bergholt. Our next performance begins in 2020 – therefore we begin raising funds for a new cause/charity for that year. We have decided to support the local community and raise money towards the play equipment for the new park. We raise by patrons donating rather than paying for tea/coffee/biscuits at intervals. Each year we chose to donate to charity rather than charging for tea/coffee/biscuits during our intervals. Patrons can contribute to the bucket on the counter and this year we are very happy and thankful to announce we raised £175 for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. To round up our 50th year as a group we will be performing a family friendly panto which are always popular with our patrons.
